S/U option

After you texted NUS (78277) and got over the terrorizing experience of reading your results via SMS, how do you know which horrible module to S/U?

Step 1:
Make sure you have a copy of your results to double-check online.

Step 2.
Calculate your CAP score without the dastardly module. The CAP calculator can be found here.

Step 3.
Control your jubilance at your brand-new CAP. If you have more than one module that is highly-toxic (like PH1101E for some), re-calculate your CAP without the other modules. You need to make sure you get the highest CAP by exercising your S/U option on the right module.

Step 4.
Proceed on to the S/U Option page here to blast that horrible grade off to another dimension.

Step 5.
You have one more semester left. Do not waste time grinning. Proceed to the Average Grade Simulator here to find out what grades you should get next semester to improve your CAP further.

Step 6.
Go on a holiday.

You know what NUSSU could do next?

Get the NUS administration to understand that language modules should not be listed under FASS.

” Oh hello, I’m a Sociology major and I’d like to learn Tamil, da.”

“Sure OK. Arts student right? No S/U ah. Even if you are Chinese, never spoke Tamil before, and would probably do badly compared to tamil-speakers who never sat for a formal examination and can therefore ace the class.”

Repeat scenario with non-Chinese CNM student taking a Chinese language module and competing with Malaysian and Indonesian Chinese-speaking students.

Fair?
