Are you tired of heading to the same few places after a long day in school?

West Coast Plaza could be exactly what you need.

Located at the site of the former Ginza Plaza, West Coast Plaza will open on Nov 15 and hopes to provide National University of Singapore (NUS) students with an alternative hang-out spot.

Developer Far East Organisation bills the new complex as a “retail oasis in the West”, with three stories of retailers including Popular, GNC, Singtel, M1 and Watson’s, amongst others.

Popular supermarket chain Cold Storage will also house a Wine Lounge, making it the first supermarket in Singapore to do so. Customers will have the chance to sample various wines and learn more about them from a fully-trained sommelier.

Meanwhile, with mainstream food and beverage outlets like Starbucks Coffee, Sushi Tei and New York New York to choose from, visitors should never be found wanting in their dining needs.

Those with a taste for new flavours will also be satisfied with Ministry of Food’s new Chinese restaurant, Qian Long Cha Fang, as well as Petit Provence, previously a take-away only outlet that will adopt an eat-in café concept in the new mall.

“West Coast Plaza will be a place for every member of the community – local as well as expatriate families living in the West Coast area, students and the working crowd,” commented Ms Susan Leng, Deputy Director (Retail Management) at Far East Organisation.

“There is something for everyone, making it an ideal place to relax and rejuvenate,” she added.

To sweeten the deal for NUS students, there will also be a regular, free shuttle bus service from Kent Ridge Campus to West Coast Plaza, which is open from 10am to 10pm daily.

Students may have already noticed these new shuttle buses since the service began on Nov 1. They run daily from 2.30pm to 10pm during regular school term.

There will also be ample parking spaces, numbering 300, if one chooses to drive to the Plaza.

The shuttle services, coupled with West Coast Plaza’s close proximity to NUS’ Kent Ridge Campus are only two reasons for students to add it to their list of hang-out locations.

With its wide selection of retail and F&B outlets, it will provide the perfect escape from the monotony of campus life, whether at the end of the day, or during a long break.
